A campaign of civil disobiedience launched throughout the country in protest against the Nationalist Government’s new racial laws on 6 April (Kruger, 1999)/26 June (Brits, 1995) in 1952 by the Non-European Unity Movement , the South African Indian Congress, the Franchise Action Committee and the African National Congress. It originated from the ANC’s Programme of Action of 1949, and led to an enormous increase of ANC membership. Among the leaders were ****. ********.
