(Also known as the “Sammy”). This award was instituted in 1963 by the actress Margaret Inglis and named after her late husband. Awarded for the best English performance on a Johannesburg stage.


From 1972 the award was administered as part of the DALRO Awards. Winners include Frantz Dobrowsky, Paul Slabolepszy, Bill Flynn, Michael McCabe, Marius Weyers.
