Translated and adapted into English as Retribution by Tom Taylor ( 1817–1880)[1]

First performed on 12 May 1856 in the Olympic Theatre, London. Published by Lacy in 1856 as No XXVII of Lacy's Acting Editions.

Performance history in South Africa

1859: Performed in the Harrington Street Theatre, Cape Town, by the Cape Town Dramatic Club on 27 May: Retribution (Taylor) with Masaniello (Brough?), and a performance of the brass band of the 59th Regiment.
