Raeford Daniel (1932/3?-1998) was a highly regarded South African theatre, film and ballet critic.
He started his journalistic career at The Friend in Bloemfontein in the 1950s, and later worked for The Star, The Rand Daily Mail (for nearly two decades), The Citizen, and The Weekly Mail. Daniel was later appointed Arts Editor at The Rand Daily Mail, a position he held until the newspaper closed in 1985. He subsequently also served as Arts Editor of The Citizenand later of the Weekly Mail.
He died unexpectedly of a heart attack in 1998, at the age of 66 .
As an actor he appeared as "The Judge" in the TV film If This Be Treason (1998) by Cedric Sundström.
