Perlé van Schalkwyk

(Stage name: Gigi) (19*-) Actress. Studied at the University of Stellenbosch Drama Department, where she played the girl in Noel Roos’s fully nude production of Schaffer’s Equus (1988/9?*). She went on to become an exotic dancer and do shows at Sun City and elswhere, before returning to theatre in a series of plays about a strip tease artiste Whore, Nipple Caps and G-Strings and Academy of Love), written and directed by Deon Opperman and performed at the various festivals. Other productions include ** , Hartebees (Alexander Strachan, KKNK, 2000), ***. She also own a strip club.
