Obe is a Southern Sotho drama by B.K. Taoana (fl 1950s?).

The original text

"Obe" is a name given to an animal from folklore in Southern Sotho and the play is based on a fable dealing with the belief in witchcraft, in which Seipati's mother-in-law disciplines her for disclosing her witchcraft by removing her tongue.


Published by Afrikaanse Pers Boekhandel in the 1950s. A second edition was published by Educum Publishers in 1984, ISBN 9780798008617.
