NEWELL, Michael (19**-) Actor

Biography

He was born in England. He married Judith Gibson during the Maynardville season of Hamlet in 1963.


Youth

He began acting at the age of nine in England and was the original "Winslow Boy" both in London and in New York.


Training

Career

He has done a good deal of radio and TV work before coming to South Africa..

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He played Laertes in Hamlet (Maynardville, 1963), Edgar in King Lear, (Maynardville, 1966). He appeared in Ring Round the Moon (1964) and Die Laaste van die Takhare (1966) for CAPAB.
