Performance history in South Africa

Staged in September 1998 in the Playhouse Theatre in Durban, directed by Feroz Khan, with actors from India in the three central roles and South Africans, including Rajesh Gopie, in the rest of the cast. The Mahatma was played by Bombay Irani, Harilal (his son) by Feroz Khan and Kasturba (his wife) by Jayati Bhatia.
