On 11 May 1934 it also played host to the first performances by the [[Kaapstadse Afrikaanse Toneelvereniging]] (KAT), namely ''[[Rooibruin Blare]]'' and ''[[Ruwe Erts]]'', both by [[H.A. Fagan]]. It stayed in use as the [[KAT]]’s regular venue until 1940.
