Graduated from Wits in 1982 with a BA Dramatic Art.

Career

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

Her local acting career includes roles in John Osborne’s The Entertainer and in The Prisoner of Second Avenue for PACT, 1983; Ida in See How They Run, 1988; Ibsen’s A Doll House (Upstairs at the Market, 1990). At the Market Theatre she appeared in Tons of Money, Tickets/Cheap and The War at Home. At the National Arts Festival in 1985 she had roles in Under the Oaks and Over the Hill.

Tricks, Tom and Viv (1986), Blue Remembered Hills (1986), The Boys Next Door (1986), Outside Edge, other productions include Flight (1988/9), Smallholding in 1989.

She also appeared in the film The Howling.

Awards, etc

Kate has won AA Life Vita Award and DALRO Awards for her performance in The War at Home and Over the Hill in 1986, as well as the DALRO Award for Under the Oaks.
