(1974-) Stage and TV Actor.

Biography

Born in Cape Town, where he grew up with his grandparents.

Twice married. He married actress Diaan Lawrenson in St Martin's-in-the-Veld Anglican Church in Rosebank, Johannesburg in March 2014. They have two children, Olivia-Rose and James.

Training

He had no formal training,m but began in theatre at the age of seven, in was seven, with a line in a production of The Ha’Penny Opera

Career

Founder and co-producer (with Diaan Lawrenson) of Jester Productions.


Actor

For Stage


Started his professional acting career at 11 year of age with the role of "Broertjie" in District Six: The Musical in in David Kramer andTaliep Petersen’s District Six - The Musical. Other roles include Poison (David Kramer and Taliep Petersen, 1992), Kat and the Kings (1999), Klop-Klop (David Kramer and Taliep Petersen, Die Ballade van Koos Sas (David Kramer, 2001, 2009), Ghoema (2006) (performed in London as Spice Drum Beat),Vatmaar,Under the Fig Tree, (2009), Is, Ja! (2009), Second Time Around (2009/2010).


For Film

Films include Safe House (2012), The Quarry (1998) and American Ninja 4: The Annihilation (1990).


For Television

Roles include "Benny Jacobs" in Hard Copy, "Marcel" in Scandal! as the violent and abusive Marcel

Awards, etc

Awards include, besides a number of Fleur du Cap Awards and Vita Awards locally, the Sir Laurence Olivier Award for Kat and the Kings(1999) and a Tony nomination for the same production.
