This is an Afrikaans translation, by W.E.G. Louw and N.P. van Wyk Louw, of L'intruse (1890), ("The Intruder") by Maurice Maeterlinck (1862-1949).

The serial

Subtitled 'n verhaal wat elke moederhart sal roer ("a story to touch the heart of every mother", the serial tells the story of the trials of a woman who had adopted a child.

Broadcast history in South Africa

It was broadcast for the first time on the May 16, 1960 and it was one of the most popular daily programs on Springbok Radio for many years.
