De Noodlottige Avonturier, of Don Quichot in die Vlakte ("The fateful adventurer or Don Quixote of the plains") is a text by Joseph Suasso de Lima (1791-1858).

The original text
Described as "a loose design, in verse", the work was listed in an advert in the South African Chronicle of 15 June 1825 as one of a series to be published by subscription.
