DAVID PHILIP PUBLISHERS: Founded in 19** by South African publisher David Philip, this independent publishing house sought encourage and develop the writing, publication and discussion of South African writing in the 1970s and 1980s. In 199* the publishing house was bought by Naspers, though David Philip continued to run it.
