Born David Pollecutt March 27, 1942 in Greytown, Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. Composed the original score of the TV series Shaka Zulu, and the stage musical African Footprint. Also a writer of award-winning advertising jingles. Worked in the business for over 40 years before his sudden death in October 2001 in Johannesburg. He was the musical director in Sex Tango and Everything Else in 2001 at the State Theatre Arena.

Married to Laura, and the couple had two daughters (Larissa and Samantha) and two sons Michael and Brendan Pollecutt.
