Das Gewissen ("Conscience") is a German tragedy in five acts by August Wilhelm Iffland (1759-1814)[1].

1818: Performed in Dutch as Het Geweeten by Tot Nut en Vermaak in their own Cape Town theatre on 5 May, 1818.
1823: Performed in Dutch as Het Geweten by Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense in the African Theatre, Cape Town theatre on 20 March, with De Keukenhelden (Jacquelin/Van Foreest).
