Studied drama at the University of Cape Town and later studied television at the London University. Joined CAPAB in 1975, working for them until early 1977.

Roles in A Day in the Death of Joe Egg (1972); Butley (Little Theatre 1973), The Alchemist, Rookery Nook CAPAB 1975, Antony and Cleopatra CAPAB 1975, Richard III, Dagberry in Much Ado about Nothing; Every Good Boy Deserves Favour, 1988. His musical debut was in Brickhill-Burke's The Sound of Music .
