He was a member of Volksteater in Pretoria and appeared in plays such as Twee Lewenskringe (Josine A. Simons-Mees, 18-19 November, 1937). In 1938 he founds a professional company called D.K.T. Teaters (Edms) Bpk and produces a number of farces and melodramas in Pretoria. He also publishes a theatre journal Kuns en Humor ("Art and Humour").
