Braam Muller (1944-). Theatre reviewer and arts editor.

Biography

Born in Reitz and schooled at Grey College in Bloemfontein, studied at the University of the Orange Free State.

He joined the Volksblad in 1966, becoming Arts Editor in 1975. Retired in 2002.

As a student his interests were strongly stimulated by influential lecturers with an interest in theatre, such as the award-winning Afrikaans playwright Gerhard Beukes and the charismatic English lecturer Robert Wahl.

While studying Muller became involved as actor and director with productions at the University of the Orange Free State theatre society, and also did amateur theatre work (acting and directing) in the city with groups like the Bloemfontein Repertory Society and Bloemfonteinse Teatergroep.

Professional stints include musicals for FACTS and PACOFS.
