Bianca le Grange (1981-). Singer, pianist, violinist, songwriter and actress. Her name also written Bianca Le Grange.

Biography

Born Bianca Joy Le Grange in Kimberley and grew up in Bushkoppies in Johannesburg. She married actor David Johnson in 2015.

Training

Completed her schooling at The National School of the Arts, where she studied both classical and contemporary music, and did ballet, modern and Spanish dancing as a young girl.

In 2014 she relocated to Cape Town.

Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

As an actress her stage roles include Snow White (Johannesburg Civic Theatre), Blood Brothers, West Side Story

As a singer, she has appeared on many Afrikaans television shows, including JIP, Noot Vir Noot, Pitstop, Lirieke Raai, Pasella and Blonde Ambisie; and was a celebrity coach on the first and third seasons of the Afrikaans reality competition Supersterre. She has also been a special guest on the Jerry Springer Saturday Night Live Show at Caesar's Palace. She has also released a number of albums. As a musical writer/producer she has written and staged Bianca and the Swing Sisters at the Mardi Gras Theatre to raise funds for the Miriam Makeba Home for Girls and written, produced and directed the autobiographical musical show Revealed at the Baxter Theatre Concert Hall.

Awards, etc

Nominated for a Fleur du Cap Award for Best Actress in a musical and won a Naledi Award for Best Performance in a musical, both for Blood Brothers.
