.Anna-Mart van der Merwe (196*-) Actress for stage film and TV. A fine bilingual actress and one of the prime Afrikaans performers of her generation, known nationally for her role in prominent films and television productions.

Training

She trained at the University of Cape Town Drama Department


Career

Free-lance actress. Joined PACT in 1987.

Her stage preformances include Liefdeskringloop (1985), Bagasie, The Caucasian Chalk Circle, Personal Column (1985), Women of Troy (1987 for PACT), Boo to the Moon (1987), Keep Movin' Ma Jack (19**), Sing jy van Bomme (19**), Die Hekse van Salem (19**), The Seagull (19**), Mirakel (19**), Moby Dick (1993), Uit die Bloute, King Lear (200*), Wyn (200*), Steeks (200*), Pendoring en Kie (200*), Oom Wanja/Uncle Vanya (Baxter Theatre, 2004), Twaalfde Nag (Oude Libertas Theatre/Baxter Theatre, 2005), Begeerte (Eugene O'Neill’s Desire under the Elms, Baxter Theatre and KKNK 2006), Lang Dagreis na die Nag (KKNK and Vleis, Rys en Aartappels, 2008). Die Vleiroos (Pieter-Dirk Uys, 1995) Generaal Mannetjies Mentz (Aardklop, 1999). Fotostaatmasjien and Liewer two productions of the Woordfees and KKNK in 2018. She also performed at the KKNK in Swerfgoed.

Her prolific TV and film career includes: (for TV) Uitdraai, Sonkring I & II, Konings, Torings, VIVA- La Difference, Paradys, The Syndicate, Vierspel, Hagenheim, Onder Draai die Duiwel Rond, Samaritaan, Soul City, 7de Laan and (for film) Die Storie van Klara Viljee, Taxi to Soweto, The Long Run, Desert Diners, Feast of the Uninvited (2008) a TV series for MNET.
