André is a full-length Afrikaans play by Temple Hauptfleisch (1945-).
Not to be confused with Andre, an American tragedy in five acts about the court martial of Major John André (1751-1780), written by William Dunlap (1766-1839)[1] and performed in New York by the Old American Company on March 30, 1798.

The original text
A play about the rise and tragic fall of a fictitious Afrikaans actor, the text was submitted and shortlisted for Amstel Playwright of the Year competition.
The text was published in 1985 by (Human and Rousseau, Cape Town), and contains a theme song composed by Anneli van Rooyen.
