ALPHA OMEGA, Cape Town (1971-) . Originally founded as Inspirations-Toneelgroep ("Inspirations Theatre Group") by P.A Jacobs in 1957, they became United Youth Crusaders in 1960 and changed the name to Alpha Omega in 1971. The group's motto is: Prestasie eis moed - oorwinning na die stryd ("Achievement demands courage - victory after the battle"). They started their work in Elsiesriver and later moved to Nooitgedacht. An interdenominational church  group of young people, their intention was to uplift people through their plays and they performed regularly, concentrating on the northern suburbs of Cape Town, but also touring to other parts of the Western and Southern Cape at the request of various churches or church societies.  Their many plays were all written by Jacobs and include such works as Pieter se Troue, In die skadu van die sipres, My belofte aan Mammie, Maak oop die graf van my moeder, Uurtjie van Lof (1985) and Oorlede Louw se bos (1985).
