Founded in Johannesburg by Jonathan Ball in 19**, this independent publishing house sought to encourage and develop the writing, publication and discussion of South African writing in the 1970s and 1980s. Among the major theatrical works published are * Echoes of Anger and No. 1 Utopia Lane by Damon Galgut (1983), *** In 199* the publishing house became an imprint of the Naspers stable ***???.
