An "opéra comique", in one act by librettist Benoît Joseph Marsollier des Vivetières (1750-1817) and composer Nicolas-Marie Dalayrac (1753-1809).

First performed in the Théâtre Feydeau 24 January, 1798 ("Représentée sur le théâtre Feydeau, le 5 pluviôse, an 6 de la République").

Published by Maradan, 1803.

Performance history in South Africa

Performed in the original French simply as "l'Opéra Comique" by the French Amateur Theatre in Cape Town, as afterpiece to L'Opéra-Comique assiégé on 28 May 1808. (The author wrongly given by Bosman, 1928, as "Marsollier en [and] Vivetières".)
