The Great Trek was one of the most important cornerstones of South African history and this film deals with its heroes and achievements.

Director of photography is Lionel Friedberg, the script by Donald Swanson, Ruth St. Moritz designed the costumes, Irene Hasselau the make-up and art direction by Peter Church, Josh du Toit the props man, Percival Rubens is production manager and technical adviser to the production is Colonel George Duxbury director of the South African National War Museum. Ruth St. Moritz desined the costumes, Dianne Zytkow was the wardrobe mistress, Irene Haselau imported from England for makeup. [[Anna Neethling Pohl[[ made a quest appearance, Patrick Mynhardt, Pieter Hauptfleisch, Tromp Terreblanche, June Neethling, Melody O'Brian, Dale Cutts, Don Lamprecht, Johan du Plooy, Dirk van den Bergh, Leonie Ross, Simon Sabella, Kitta Redlinghuys, Elsa Fouche, Willie van Rensburg and Carel Trichardt are the actors.
