Andrea Vinassa 18 April 1958 - 7 May 2021.

Born on 18 April, 1958, she and her sister Celeste grew up in Benoni, where she was one of the top students in the Primary and Secondary School. She studied BSc Domestic Science and also a Honours in Journalism at the University of Stellenbosch.


Her later partner Alan Harvey had died some time before and Vinassa herself passed away of cancer in Pretoria on 7 May 2021.


Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

A highly regarded writer, she was a former Arts Editor of the Vrye Weekblad, and also worked for Beeld, The Star, Femina, M-Net and Red Pepper Pictures.
