The Art of Physical Intelligence is a series of 3 manuals on Physical Theatre, published by the First Physical Theatre Company in Grahamstown

According to the website (http://www.ru.ac.za/firstphysical/resources/publications/) the three manuals are designed to offer insight into physical theatre, contemporary dance and choreography.

Volume 1: Experiments in Physical Theatre (2002, updated 2018?) is of particular use for theatre historians and students of performance in particular, since it takes the reader through a journey of the company’s repertory. Based on the company’s CD-Rom, this manual includes illustrations and copies of scripts by a range of writers including Andrew Buckland, Reza de Wet and Gary Gordon.

The series is also backed up by audio-visual records in various video formats.
