Good Gracious, Annabelle

Good Gracious, Annabelle is a romantic farce comedy in three acts play by American composer, lyricist and playwright Clare Kummer (1873-1958)[1].

Written in 1916, the play opened at the Theatre Republic, New York, on 31 October, 1916 and ran for 111 performances till 1 February, 1917. Published by Samuel French, New York, in 1922. The musical score was published in New York by McCarthy & Fisher, ©1919.

Performance history in South Africa

1918: First staged in South Africa at His Majesty's Theatre in Johannesburg, opening on 2 September 1918. In the cast were Marie Tempest, Doris Gilham, Hilda Attenboro, Joan Devine, Graham Browne, Clement May, Roger Barry, Ashton Jarry, Harcourt Collett, Dick Cruikshanks, T.M. Oliff and Herbert Millard.
