Guy Faux, or the Gunpowder Treason Conspiracy is a melodrama in two (three?) acts by Geo. (George) Marfarren.

The original text

The play only exists in acting copies in various archives, e.g. in the A'Beckett collection in the New York Public Library archives.

Apparently performed in Royal Coburg Theatre, London, in September, 1822.

Performance history in South Africa

1834: Performed in the "Amateur Theatre", Cape Town by the Private Amateur Company on 5 November 1834. (Billed as "Guy Faux, or the Gunpowder Treason" and referred to as an "historical melodrama in three acts".) Followed by A Day After the Fair (Somerset) as afterpiece.
