Published in Hamburg by Campe in 1803.

Translations and adaptations

Translated into Dutch as De Oost-Indien-vaarer by Jan Willem Jacobus Steenbergen van Goor and published by H. Moolenijzer, Amsterdam in 1804.

Performance history in South Africa

1824: Performed in Dutch as De Oost-Indien Varer by Honi Soit qui Mal y Pense in the African Theatre, Cape Town on 18 September June, with De Verstrooiden (Von Kotzebue).
