Side by Side by Sondheim is a musical revue featuring the songs of the Broadway and film composer Stephen Sondheim [1]. Its title is derived from the song "Side by Side" from Company.

Performance history in South Africa

1983: Presented by Pieter Toerien, directed by and featuring Eric Flynn, as well as Judy Page and Andre Hattingh at the National Arts Festival, July 1983. Lighting by Jannie Swanepoel, designed by Andrew Botha, costumes by Warren Madgwick.

This was the opening production at the Leonard Rayne Theatre on 18 July 1983.

2000: Presented by the University of the Witwatersrand School of Dramatic Art, directed by Fred Hagemann at the Wits Downstairs Theatre.
