Vereeniging, Vereniging is a play by P.G. du Plessis (1934-2017).

Note: The play is sometimes wrongly referred to as Vereeniging, Vereeniging; Vereeniging [1] is a place in the Transvaal, while "vereniging" is Afrikaans for both "association" or "union" and "reunion".

The original text

Written in 1980 and produced in 1984. Subtitled "teenstellings, verskuiwings en paralelle teen 'n agtergrond" ("contraditions, shifts and paralells agains a background"), it is a play about the end of the Anglo-Boer War and the peace accord signed at the town of Vereeniging in the Transvaal.

It appears that thetyped text was initially distributed to the various potential performing companies (e.g. drama departments and Performing Arts Councils) in 1980, and finally published by Tafelberg Publishers in 1985, after it had been produced.
