Sunrise City is a musical play by Chris Pretorius, Matthew Krouse, Mark Fleishman which gives a satirical view of pleasure palaces and the sex industry making use of caricature and exaggerated image of decadence, inspired by the work of German dramatist Bertolt Brecht.

Performed at the Market Theatre, 1988 directed and designed by Chris Pretorius. Music by Shaun Naidoo, with Hazel Friedman, Dominique Moser, Sarah Leftwich, Margaret Williams, Helena Hettema, Roz Monat, Gideon de Wet, Lionel Newman, Matthew Krouse, Ben Kruger, Mxolisi Hulana, Mike Mvelase, Sello Maake ka Ncube, Johan Bothma, Irene Stephanou, Margaret Williams. Choreography by Robyn Orlin.
