Die Lewe is 'n Speeltoneel ("Life is a performance") is a collection of Afrikaans plays published by the Afrikaanse Persboekhandel.

The collection

Published by Afrikaanse Persboekhandel in 1952, the title reflecting something of the sense of Shakespeare's "All the world's a stage".

Die Wildsboudjie by Fritz Steyn

Rooibruin Blare by H.A. Fagan

Om Lettie se Ontwil by P.W.S. Schumann

Translations and adaptations

Later Die Wildsboudjie was left out, and the text adapted and expanded with more plays to be renamed Rooibruin Blare en Ander Eenakters (edited by Abel Coetzee, published by Afrikaanse Persboekhandel in 1968).
