Contribution to SA theatre, film, media and/or performance

He visited the Cape in 1854 with the company led by G.V. Brooke, on their way to Australia. The company consisted of Miss Fanny Cathcart and Mr R.Younge and they performed in the Barracks Theatre during the revictualling of their vessel, along with local amateurs.

They did Othello on 1 January 1855 and he was highly praised for his interpretation of "Iago".
