Margaret Harradine is a cultural researcher, genealogist, and until her retirement was the Africana Librarian of the Port Elizabeth City Libraries.

In 1995 she published a book called Port Elizabeth: A Social Chronicle to the End of 1945. (Port Elizabeth: E.H. Walton Packaging (Pty) Ltd.) The book was published to celebrate Walton's 150th anniversary.

In 2004 she published Hills Covered with Cottages. Port Elizabeth's Lost Streetscapes. (Port Elizabeth: Historical Society of Port Elizabeth.)

She died on December 25, 2019.
