(Gustav(195*-) Marketing manager, radio performer. Born in the mid fifties and grew up in Johannesburg, Gauteng. He is a member of the Institute of Marketing Managers, spent 10 years with Liberty Life’s Franchise division and is now the Group CEO of Knights Insurance Brokers, an insurance company formed by the SACBC and the Knights of Da Gama. Gustav comes from an artistic family: his father, the late [[Pieter Hauptfleisch]], being a well-known and loved stage and radio actor of the 70’s, his mother ([[Marie Schutte]])is a published author and his brother [[Conrad Hauptfleisch|Konrad Hauptfleisch]] sang opera. Gustav has a passion for radio work and as a youngster performed in a number of Springbok Radio daily soapies. He was also involved with the [[SABC]] as a voice artist in the early days of television when overseas programmes were dubbed into Afrikaans. Presently he is a volunteer with Radio Veritas and presents a weekly programme “Ons Praat Afrikaans”. Gustav has coined the phrase: “Die Goeie Nuus se Beurt” being the slogan of Radio Veritas “The Good News for a Change”. His programme focuses on issues of a Christian nature, not only Catholic and he features South African artists doing work in Afrikaans. His music is sponsored by Gospel Direct.
