The RDB (literally "The Rescue Act Alliance") was an Afrikaner support society founded in the late 1930s to uplift the poor white Afrikaners economically. Though the problem of poverty was largely alleviated by the end of the 1930s, they continued in existence, supporting Afrikaans economic, cultural and other aspirations.

For instance in the 1940s they supported the companies of Hendrik Hanekom (to put on productions of Oom Paul and Hans-die-Skipper ), Siegfried Mynhardt (to found the company and produce Die Rooi Pruik.) and Louis de Vriendt (to tour with plays such as Die Dodelike Kus).
