Amper Maar Nog Ni ("Almost but not quite") is an early Cape Dutch tragedy by J.H.H. de Waal.

Later spelled Amper Maar Nog Nie in Afrikaans

The original text

Written in Cape Dutch, an early version of Afrikaans, it is considered to be the first Afrikaans play performed to in front of a Cape Town audience.

1907: The play was first performed in the Cardaga Saal (Cardaga Hall) in Cape Town.
