First performed at the Theatre Royal, Hay-Market in 1795 and printed in London by G. Woodfall, for T. N. Longman,1795.

Performance history in South Africa

1846: performed on 2 January 1846 by the amateurs of the 45th Regiment in the barracks at Fort Napier, with The Honest Thieves (Howard/Knight) as afterpiece.
