Yelena is a play by Reza de Wet (1952-2012).


The original text

De Wet's first drama in English since 1990, the play once more has its roots in the works of Chekov, focusing on the character Yelena from Uncle Vanya, to focus on the interpersonal dramas of a small group of people connected by love, marriage and blood.

1998: First performed at the 1998 Grahamstown Festival, directed by Marthinus Basson. With Norman Coombes, Jana Cilliers, Charlotte Butler, Frantz Dobrowsky, Graham Hopkins.
