Yelena, by Reza de Wet,

her first drama in English since 1990.

The play has its roots in Chekov with the character Yelena in Uncle Vanya. 

Yelena uses the characters from Uncle Vanya and focuses on the interpersonal dramas of a small group of people connected by love, marriage and blood.

Performance history in South Africa

1998: First performed at the 1998 Grahamstown Festival, directed by Marthinus Basson. With Norman Coombes, Jana Cilliers, Charlotte Butler, Frantz Dobrowsky, Graham Hopkins.
