The Wynand Mouton Theatre, is one of the venues used by the University of the Free State Drama Department and is situated on their campus. Also known in Afrikaans as Wynand Mouton-teater and later as the ATKV-Wynand Mouton-teater.

Built by the University and run by, and largely utilized by, the Drama Department. At the time regarded as best equipped university theatre in South Africa, it contains a flying gallery, an equal-to-size back stage, 2 mechanical decor trolleys, orchestra pit and 330 seats. It was preceded by the Scaena Theatre.

The theatre was opened on Thursday October 13 1983 with a production in Afrikaans of Hamlet (translated by L.I. Coertze), directed by Ben de Koker, starring, among others, Anton Welman and Chris Fourie. Playwrights who have had new work premiered here include Pieter Fourie and Nico Luwes. The 1820 Settlers Foundation annually has its regional section of the South African Schools' Festival there, as does the ATKV.
