(17*-18*) A local teacher and amateur performer, who appeared in productions by the Officers of the Garrison (often referred to as the Garrison Players) and was a regular with the English Amateurs (All the World's a Stage) from 1807 onwards. They performed a range of plays in the African Theatre at the Cape in the years 1807-8, including The Rivals , The West Indian, Tom Thumb, The Beaux Stratagem, She Stoops to Conquer, etc.
