Why't Burp is an Afrikaans farce by Chris Vorster ().

The original text

Subtitled "'n Afrikaanse western" ("an Afrikaans western"), this is a one man skit on popular western movies, played as an illustrated narrative by the central character.

First performed in 1998. The text has not been published. A copy of the typed script is held in the archives of the Drama Department at the University of Stellenbosch.

Performance history in South Africa

1998: Performed by Blond Produksies at the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival, as well as performances at in various venues in Stellenbosch, Paarl, Durbanville, Pretoria, Bloemfontein and Durban. Directed by Chris Vorster, with Gaerin Hauptfleisch and Albert Snyman

1999: Performed again at the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival.
