In 1934, when [[Hendrik Hanekom]] retired from touring to set up his theatre school in Bloemfontein, his partners, [[Wena Naudé]] and her husband [[Willem van Zyl]]  carried on touring with old Hanekom plays, such as Die Verstoteling and Lagduiweltjie. In 1934 Naude went to Holland to study, and also performed Van Riet, Van Rietfontein there. While away the company continued to tour, with [[Sannie Uys]] in her roles. She returned in 1935 to continue here, taking over her usual roles again.
