Vryslag (Afrikaans for "Freestyle") is a radio drama written by Marcel van Heerden. A radio play about a struggling single father and actor, trying to keep his head above water and pay his teenage son's school fees. Winner of the 2013 RSG and Sanlam radio playwriting competition.

Van Heerden later wrote a screenplay based on the radio drama and directed the short film, also called Vryslag - it was chosen as the best short film at 2015’s Silwerskermfees (Silver Screen Festival in Cape Town).
