Background

In the performing arts visual material is of crucial value, since the media themselves (except perhaps for radio) are highly dependent on visual communication. Hence the availability of drawings, designs, photographs, films, videos and the like are of great importance to the individual researcher and to the documentation of theatre, film, media and performance history.
