Verspeelde Lente ("lost spring") is an Afrikaans TV series produced by Visio Film Produksies.

The series

Based on the eponymous Afrikaans novel by Jan van Melle (published by Nasionale Boekhandel in 1963), the series tells the story of Pop le Roux, a beautiful but unsophisticated girl, the daughter of a poor farming family, her true love, the young farmer Manie Cronjé and the rich widower Jan Greyling.

With a script by Johan van Jaarsveld and directed by Manie van Rensburg, the series features Elize Cawood (as "Pop le Roux"), Ian Roberts ("Hermaans Cronjé"), Brian O'Shaughnessy ("Jan Greyling"), Tertius Meintjies ("Gert Greyling"), Wilma Stockenström ("Griet le Roux"), Limpie Basson ("Sagrys le Roux"), André Rossouw ("Job Cronjé") and Isabella Bosman ("Hessie Cronjé). Also in the cast are Dawie Maritz, Emile Aucamp, Jannie Gildenhuys, Pierre Louw, Etienne Pienaar, Ncediwe Mdunyelwa, Johan Liebenberg, Maria Schoeman and Sandra Temmingh.

The production team for the series included Art Heatlie (music), Franco Human (cinematography), Nena Olwage (editing), Birrie le Roux (production design), Colin Polson (makeup), Richard Green (series production) and Anton van der Linde (sound).
